Rating by category:
room was dirty, no heating all night despite zero degrees outside, shower curtain had mould on it, room not updated since seventies, tiny bathroom, outside door links to outside patio with no curtain over window so next room can see in , tv had poor reception, breakfast had no hot water for tea, toaster at breakfast barely worked poor quality avoid
I have never in my life seen a bathroom that dirty and the corridor had a bad smell. No wonder they made us pay the full amount on arrival. 110Gbp per night is a huge ripoff
I wouldn't go as far as to say I liked them but the breakfast room was better than I expected given the very basic standard of the room...........it was nowhere near what it should be for 2012 in a capital city but it was better than the room and the girl running it was trying hard.
It would scarcely be possible for the Seymour Hotel be any more basic than it is.....the facilities are not at all hotel like, more like a low standard of hostel accomodation and in a supposedly world class city that London is meant to be the facilities on offer here are not of a satisfactory standard.......old fashioned, tired, charmless and basic......and someone born in London it is embarrassing that tourists are going to come to the city and experience facilities like these.
The location near the tube station and park was good.
The breakfast was very basic and the bathroom was tiny. The mattress was thin and not comfortable.
I found it very convienient for the west vend ,good bus system close by.very good continental breakfest available.
My room was on top floor so had to climb 68 stairs each time ,but otherwise fine
good location for west end and paddington station. breakfast not bad,
breakfast staff very unfriendly
Was cheap had a shower toilet and a bed. Clean convenient. It cost £70 i got what was expected. Plus free coffee
For £60 a night, it's good if you just need a place to sleep, but don't expect much else and don't pay more. Location is good, near Paddington Station & Hyde Park. Plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. EasyBus from Stansted drops off at nearby Baker Street. Our room was clean, included a small tv (though no batteries in the remote), wardrobe, and instant coffee/tea set. Very small bathroom and shower, but it gets the job done. Other reviews reported break-ins, so we used the safe at reception with no problems. Reception helped us with directions, a wake- up call, & called us a taxi. Overall, a satisfactory no-frills budget hotel for the lowest price I could find.
Worst of all, there was no internet. Bad ventilation can make the rooms a bit smelly at times. Breakfast is included, but isn't much: coffee, tea, orange juice, cereal, white bread, slices of frightful deli meats and unnatural cheese, some jams and yogurt. It gets the job done if you're not picky, but you might be better off visiting one of the many cafes nearby.
Its proximity to Paddington Train Station.
I didn't like the obscure policy regarding credit card charging through Booked.net. Also the breakfast was poor, very poor.
Very good price at the time I was looking - most other hotels I could find were booked and much more expensive. The location is very good - close to Paddington station / circle line so things are easy to get to. There are probably 40 other hotels/ B+B / guest houses between this hotel and Paddington station - almost every building has some sort of accomodations. There are a number of places to eat and small shops in the area.
The bathroom was tiny - think airplane size. It's a prefabricated unit added to the room after it was built. If you're a large person I would stay somewhere else. The hotel has multiple buildings - I was only in the main building. The one I stayed in was a bit dated and worn.
The rooms were clean and for the money didnt expect much else breakfast was good. And only five minute walk to Paddington tube/train station
The shower room and toilet was very compact but was fine for a couple of days stay, and there are a lot of stairs to climb if you are on the 3rd or 4th floor
The smell from the drains in the bathroom, the room was too small
The people working at the reception. The location. Clean.
The bathoom was a a plastic box at the end of the room. No shampoo and used soap. The price was not coresponding to the quality on the Hotel.
The most important thing the location, the price
There isn't Internet, no lift (because I stayed in 4th floor), the tolite is tiny, the TV is nothing (there aren't channels to watch)
I like the location and cleanliness.
No lift. Water not flowing properly on last floor. Unfaithfulness of Staff.
